Erlotero 100mg - Erlotinib 100mg tablets it is a non-chemotherapy drug that belongs to the group of medicines called Cytostatic agents. It is Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor-Kinase Inhibitor (EGFR-TKI). The medicine binds tyrosine kinase (the intracellular) portion of protein called epidermal growth factor receptor and inhibits the spread or growth of cancer cells in the body.

Uses:

·         It treats advanced, unresectable metastatic pancreatic cancer and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in adult patients.

·         It is used to treat pancreatic cancer.

·         It is used to treat advanced mNSLC after the failure of one prior chemotherapy regimen.

·         Patients with both metastatic and advanced non-small lung cancer can take Erlotinib tablets in combination with gemcitabine as initial choice of treatment.

·         Erlotero is prescribed to the patients with tumors when all the other options of treatments fail or found not suitable.

After Effects:

Abdominal pain, interstitial lung disease, diarrhoea, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, liver failure, cough, fever, conjunctivitis, rashes in skin due to sun exposure, depression, weight loss, infections, irritation in mouth, depression, bleeding from nose, difficulty in breathing, GI bleeding, infection in hair follicles, hair loss, cough, numbness in extremities, cracked skin, loss of appetite, headache, nausea, stomach pain, flatulence, acne, dry skin, indigestion, constipation, rigors, fever, tiredness, painful palms, joints, or soles.

Precautions:

The use of effective contraception by both males and females during treatment is important to avoid pregnancy.  It is advised to quit smoking while taking this medicine as it can affect the working of the medicine. If you have to take an antacid or any other medicine, take it at a gap of at least 2 hours after taking the cancer medicine.
